This page describes how untl handles personal data when you visit untl.io and use the tools on the site. Last updated: 2026-07-27.
The site is free to use and does not require an account. The personal data the site touches is limited to what Google Analytics and Google AdSense receive in the normal course of measuring traffic and serving advertisements. The rest of this page explains exactly what that means, what cookies are set, and how to opt out.
What we collect directly
untl itself does not run its own analytics database, ask you to create an account, or invite you to submit personal information through a form. The "remind me" forms on the countdown pages are a stub for a future opt-in email reminder service; in the current implementation, submitting the form just changes the visible label and does not send anything to a server.
The site stores one preference in your browser's localStorage under the key untl-theme: your selected colour theme (light or dark). This value never leaves your device and is only read by the page itself.
Google Analytics
Pages on untl.io load Google Analytics 4 (property G-6E9XX0JCWE) to help us understand which pages are visited, which countdowns are most popular, and how visitors navigate between tools. Google Analytics receives standard request metadata (IP address, user-agent, referrer, page URL) and may set first-party cookies in the _ga, _ga_*, and _gid families to distinguish unique sessions.
We do not use Google Analytics' demographics or interest-categories features and do not link the analytics data to advertising profiles. Google's own policies for the analytics service are at support.google.com/analytics. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all participating sites by installing the official Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking the googletagmanager.com domain in a content-blocker.
Google AdSense
The site shows advertisements served by Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-9709506782751289). AdSense uses cookies and similar identifiers to deliver and measure ads, and depending on your jurisdiction and consent state, may use them for personalised advertising as well. The cookies set by AdSense include __gads, __gpi, NID, and IDE, among others, served from googlesyndication.com, google.com, and doubleclick.net.

You can manage advertising personalisation settings for your Google account at adssettings.google.com, and opt out of personalised advertising across many ad networks at youronlinechoices.com (EU/UK), optout.aboutads.info (US), or youradchoices.ca (Canada).
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland and AdSense detects that consent is required under the EU Digital Markets Act or the GDPR, a consent message is shown before non-essential cookies are set. You can revisit your choice at any time by clicking the "Privacy choices" link that AdSense surfaces, or by clearing your cookies and reloading the page.
Google Fonts
The site loads Schibsted Grotesk and JetBrains Mono from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Google's fonts service receives standard request metadata (IP address, user-agent, referring page URL) in order to serve the font files. Google's privacy practices for fonts and other Google services are at policies.google.com/privacy.
Blocking the Google Fonts domains in a content-blocker is safe; the page falls back to your operating system's system fonts and remains fully usable.
What the site never receives
The values you enter into the tools (your date of birth in the age calculator or birthday countdown, the duration you set on the timer, the laps you record on the stopwatch, the target date in the how-long-until tool, the times you convert in the format converter) are processed entirely in your browser by JavaScript. None of these values are sent to untl, to Google, or to any other third party. They live in memory while the page is open and are gone when you close the tab.
Cookies set by this site
untl itself does not set any first-party cookies. The cookies you may see in your browser's developer tools when visiting the site are set by Google Analytics and Google AdSense as described above. Their names, durations, and purposes are documented by Google at the policy links given in each section.
The theme preference is stored in localStorage, not as a cookie. Clearing site data for untl.io in your browser settings removes it.
Children's data
The site is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. Because untl itself does not collect personal data directly, no special process applies to verifying ages or removing children's data. Google's analytics and advertising services have their own age and consent processes, described in their respective policies.
Third-party links
Pages on untl link to external resources for context (Wikipedia, Google's privacy policies, opt-out services, the Anonymous Gregorian computus reference, others). Those sites are governed by their own privacy policies; we are not responsible for their handling of your data.
Changes to this policy
If the site's privacy practices change in a material way — for example, if a new analytics or advertising service is added, if first-party data collection begins (mailing list, account system), or if the "remind me" form is wired to a real backend — this page will be updated and the "last updated" date at the top will reflect the change.
Your rights and how to reach us
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR (EEA, UK), CCPA/CPRA (California), PIPEDA (Canada), the Australian Privacy Act, or similar legislation. Because untl itself does not store personal data, most rights requests will be most effective when directed at the relevant third-party processor: Google for analytics and ads data. Google offers self-service controls at myaccount.google.com for users with a Google account, and supports opt-outs for users without one through the cookie-banner and ad-personalisation controls described above.
